Rental conditions

The driver must be over 23 and under 75 years old, with a minimum of 2 years' driving licence. For drivers over 65, taking out additional insurance that removes the excess is mandatory.

Mileage
As stated in your booking or contract. You can extend it by choosing a higher tariff, paying the difference, or requesting a more suitable rate.

Taxes
VAT is included in the tariff. There are no additional fees, except for the occupants' insurance and pick-ups/drop-offs outside office hours or location.

Civil liability insurance
Unlimited coverage for damages to third parties. Liability for damage to the vehicle is limited to the excess. Damage to the vehicle's roof and damage caused by the renter's negligence are never covered.

Multiple destinations
You may return the vehicle at a different location from the third day onwards, with an extra charge (not between mainland Spain and the islands). For Portugal: €9/day (minimum €27, maximum €90). Leaving the Iberian Peninsula is not permitted.

Please remember that you have booked a vehicle group, not a specific model, engine or colour. If that group is sold out, we are always required to provide you with a higher category, at the price you agreed.

Fuel
The fuel level is noted when the vehicle is handed over and must be returned the same way. If it does not match, the difference will be charged and an administrative fee may apply.

Deposit
Paid by credit card at the start of the rental, depending on the vehicle. It is returned at drop-off, minus the amount of any damage if applicable.

Personal insurance (optional)
Covers accidents to occupants, for €7.00/day, valid per car and day for all vehicle groups.

A valid driving licence and ID card or passport; a credit card in the driver's name (if paying by mobile, provide the card number and expiry date); and a copy of the booking form. If any requirement is not met, the rental cannot be carried out. A contract is signed in duplicate, in Spanish, kept for the minimum period required by law. Alquiauto is committed to confidentiality: your data is not shared with third parties outside the company, except where required by law, and is only used to manage the contract and any related issues.

Any credit card, except AMEX and Diners Club. The cardholder must be the same person named on the rental contract; if this condition is not met, the vehicle cannot be handed over.

Pick-up and drop-off take place at the location stated in your booking. For pick-ups and drop-offs outside our offices, please check with your nearest branch.

Early cancellation fees are a maximum of €50 for all vehicles, except 9-seaters (€100). The booking is held for 2 hours from the stated time; after that, it is automatically cancelled.
